The first session is a time to meet each other, discuss your concerns and determine whether we're a good fit.
While this first session typically includes many questions to understand your concerns and situations, we also review the necessary paperwork and any questions you may have. By filling out the paperwork ahead of time, we can spend most of the session talking about your concerns and current situation. For children, the first appointment is typically only with the parents.
If you are a new client, you will receive an email after scheduling the intake. That email provide you with your link to the secure Client Portal. The Client Portal will direct you to sign the important documents and fill out specific and helpful information. Please be sure to fill out the forms 48 hours in advance of the intake and be as thorough as possible. Thank you for your patience with these forms as they can be lengthy, but are legally and ethically necessary.
Authorization forms are also available if you would like to coordinate care with others. The HPS Office fax number is 619.923.2773.
Please inform us if you do not have access to a printer and we'll provide the forms for you to complete. In this case, please arrive 15 minutes prior to your appointment time. Your forms will have "Hilber Psychological Services" written on it for privacy.
