Hi! My name is Alexandria Riley, and I am a Registered Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (APCC23574), supervised by Shannel Ezedi, LPCC (LPCC19030). I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of California, San Diego and my Master’s degree in School-Based Clinical Counseling from the University of San Diego.

Originally from Michigan, I have called San Diego home for many years. Outside of therapy, I enjoy spending time with my family, reading all the books, and listening to music.

Clinical Experience

My clinical experience includes working with children and adolescents ages 2–18, including LGBTQ+ youth, in school-based settings, as well as adults in an inpatient setting. I have supported clients navigating anxiety, self-esteem concerns, behavioral concerns, academic stress, life transitions, trauma-related concerns, and changes within the family.

I take a person-centered approach to therapy and believe that building a genuine therapeutic relationship is an important part of the counseling process. My therapeutic style is warm, compassionate, and collaborative. I incorporate a variety of therapeutic approaches, including but not limited to, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Mindfulness, and Play Therapy, adapting each approach to meet my clients’ individual needs and goals.

I believe each person brings their own experiences, strengths, and perspectives into therapy. I strive to create a space where clients feel safe, understood, and comfortable being their authentic selves. My goal is to support clients as they work through challenges, gain a deeper understanding of themselves, and move toward meaningful growth and healing.
