Deborah Scipione, ACSW
Registered Associate Clinical Social Worker

Supervised by Kathy Winship, LCSW LCSW69759

Hello, my name is Deborah Scipione and I am a Registered Associate Clinical Social Worker, ACSW #121176, and am supervised by Kathy Winship, LCSW (LCSW69759).

I am a San Diego native, and grew up in the South Bay. I graduated with my Masters of Social Work from UMass Global and have worked with adolescents and military and veteran populations. I also have worked with students and children for the last decade and a half, teaching and counseling middle school students. I love working with kids! Some of my favorite activities are snorkeling, hiking, and spending time with family and friends. Live music, movies and theater are also a must!

My goal with clients is to build trust and let them be the experts in their own experiences and unique identity and to work together to identify their values and goals and how to achieve them. I want to help create healthy and sustainable coping strategies to help wherever the clients are at. I have experience with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI) and Brief Solution Focused Therapy.

Clinical Experience

I have worked with adolescents and adults of all different backgrounds in the school and outpatient social work setting. I’ve worked with first generation immigrant families as well as the military and veteran communities. With my students and first generation clients I was trained in using CBT to help with Anxiety, ADHD, Depression and self-harm. While working with the military and veteran community I used Solution Focused Brief Therapy to identify and goal set as well as help connect to other social services.
