Martha Avila-Jimenez, ACSW, PPSC
Registered Associate Clinical Social Worker
Supervised by Carlos Moreno, LCSW
My name is Martha Avila-Jimenez, ACSW (she/her/ella), and I am a registered Associate Clinical Social Worker (ACSW131570), supervised by Carlos Moreno, LCSW (LCSW115286).
I attended San Diego State University where I earned my Bachelor's degree in Psychology with a Minor in Women's Studies, Master's of Social Work, and Pupil Personnel Services credential. Outside of therapy, I enjoy going to the gym, exploring new restaurants and coffee shops, attending cultural and music events, and finding the best spots for sunset views.
Clinical Experience
My clinical experience includes working with children, adolescents, young adults, and families from diverse backgrounds across school-based and outpatient community mental health settings. I have supported LGBTQIA+, BIPOC, and immigrant/first-generation clients, as well as survivors of domestic violence and human/sex trafficking. I am passionate about supporting clients navigating various topics such as identity exploration, relational stressors, major life transitions, grief and loss, substance use concerns, emotional regulation challenges, healing from trauma, and more. I draw from a range of evidence-based modalities tailored to each client’s needs and goals, including Person-Centered Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), Narrative Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). At the heart of my work is a person-centered and collaborative approach where I strive to create a space that feels safe, affirming, empowering, and transparent. I believe therapy is most meaningful when clients feel heard, respected, and unconditionally supported while working toward the changes that matter most to them.
