Valentina Gomez Vargas, ACSW, PPS
Registered Associate Clinical Social Worker
Supervised by Gina Cabral, LMFT104556
Hello, my name is Valentina Gomez and I am a Registered Associate Clinical Social Worker (ACSW______), supervised by Gina Cabral, LMFT #104556 and Pupil Personnel Services. I earned my Master of Social Work from San Diego State University and my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo.
Clinical Experience
My clinical work focuses on supporting adolescents and young adults, especially those navigating life transitions, identity exploration, anxiety, depression, and academic or social stressors. I’ve worked in both school-based and outpatient settings and am particularly passionate about creating inclusive, affirming spaces for youth and college students.
I approach therapy as a collaborative, empowering process rooted in empathy and cultural humility. My practice is strengths-based and trauma-informed, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Solution Focused Therapy. I believe in meeting clients where they are while supporting them in identifying their values, goals, and internal strengths.
Outside of therapy, I enjoy practicing yoga, painting, journaling at local coffee shops, and exploring San Diego’s art, nature, and music scenes. Whether it’s hiking coastal trails or discovering a new bookstore, I find joy in creativity, movement, and connection—values I aim to bring into my work with clients.
